Manchester United legend STILL upset Arsenal signed England international

Manchester United legend Gary Neville is still upset that the club sold Danny Welbeck to Arsenal, he revealed in his Daily Telegraph column.

The Sky Sports pundit believes that the transfer was an early warning side of the dangers of Louis van Gaal’s tenure at the club. He has criticised the Dutchman for his policy of buying and selling players at a high rate while at the club.

“I am still saddened that Danny Welbeck left,” wrote Neville,”I am saddened that Adnan Januzaj has been allowed to leave on loan to Borussia Dortmund. It was an early red flag to me when Welbeck was sold for £16million, as I said at the time. Januzaj went from playing four or five games on the bounce to going out on loan in Europe.

“The transfer activity concerns me most. That carousel approach.”

The Red Devils have made a shaky start to the season, after once again spending big in the transfer window just gone. Despite bringing in Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian, Morgan Schneiderlin, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Sergio Romero, and Anthony Martial this summer they have already lost to Swansea City and struggled to a 0-0 draw with Newcastle United.

This has left the side off the pace in the Premier League title race, with local rivals City having won all four of their games to date. It could be that the team is again battling for a top four place with Arsenal and Liverpool, which will be a disappointment for fans who had tipped them to win the top flight before the campaign started.
