Aston Villa are thought to be closing in on a move to sign former Manchester United youngster Ravel Morrison on loan form Lazio, according to reports in Italian publication Tuttomercatoweb.
The Villans are yet to make a move during the January transfer window, but are hopeful of concluding at least one piece of business before the deadline on Monday night.
Morrison joined Lazio last year after leaving West Ham, but has struggled to settle in the Italian capital, making just a handful of appearances, and is already believed to be looking for an escape route back to England.
And the report in Italy is claiming that Villa are the frontrunners to land his signature on loan for the remainder of the season.
Fellow strugglers Bournemouth are also said to hold an interest in his services, but it is believed that Villa have made the first move.
