Liverpool lining up summer move for £44.3m PSG winger

Liverpool are reportedly preparing an offer for Paris Saint-Germain star Lucas Moura this summer but will face competition for his signature.

According to Itasport, Jurgen Klopp’s side will go head-to-head with Manchester United for the Brazilian, who joined the French giants for £44.3m in 2013.

While he has recently conceded that he would like to play in the Premier League, both Liverpool and United have been alerted by the situation and will hope to persuade both the player and club to agree to the move.

The 23-year-old has made 35 appearances in all competitions so far this season, scoring eight goals and providing four assists to help the capital club open up a 25-point lead at the top of the Ligue 1 table as well as advance in the cup competitions.

Despite proving himself to be a crucial member of the squad, it remains to be seen whether or not Laurent Blanc makes changes to his group this summer, as ultimately the French giants will want to start making a bigger impression in Europe.

With reports linking them with a move for Barcelona star Neymar, Lucas could join Ezequiel Lavezzi in going through the exit door with the Argentine set to see his contract expire at the end of the season.

Provided that PSG are looking to strengthen this summer, then it would only seem logical that they will have sacrifice certain members of the current squad in order to create space and to balance the books.
