Manchester United forward reveals the advice he’s given to wonderkid Marcus Rashford

Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard has revealed that he has taken it upon himself to keep his teammate Marcus Rashford grounded.

The wonderkid is enjoying a meteoric rise to stardom after being drafted into the Red Devils team by coach Louis van Gaal.

The teenager bagged a brace against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League as United saw off the Danish side, before hitting two more goals in his second match—and his Premier League debut—as the Red Devils beat Arsenal 3-2 at Old Trafford.

He returned to the scoresheet on Sunday, scoring the only goal of the game as United defeated rivals Manchester City in a tight tense derby encounter.

His latest strike has taken United to within a point of their local rivals and put them firmly back in the hunt for a return to the Champions Leauge.

Speaking to the media—as reported by the Mirror—Lingard, who is enjoying something of a breakout campaign himself, has revealed the advice he’s given to his young teammate.

“He’s buzzing but I was keeping him grounded,” the forward began.

“He’s already grounded anyway, to be fair. He has to keep his feet on the ground and I’ve told him that already,” he continued.
