Liverpool flop set for unlikely Premier League return

Former Liverpool coach Brendan Rodgers will return to the Premier League with ex-club Swansea City in the summer.

According to the Express, Francesco Guidolin—who was appointed at the Liberty Stadium as Garry Monk’s successor earlier in the season—is among the contenders to replace supposedly Chelsea-bound Antonio Conte as Italy coach, meaning that the Swans will be in need of a new manager.

43-year-old Rodgers is yet to return to the game since being sacked by Liverpool back in October.

The Northern Irish coach is understood to have been waiting for the right opportunity to return to the game, and having admitted in the past that he would be open to returning to South Wales one day, he has emerged as the front runner to replace Guidolin.

The coach spent almost two years at the club, taking them to the Premier League for the first time before establishing them in the top flight.
