Liverpool will reportedly provide Chelsea with stiff competition this summer with both clubs looking to sign Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater.
Aside from breaking into the England set-up this season, the 26-year-old has played an integral role in Leicester’s rise to becoming Premier League champions.
Having been an almost ever-present star for Claudio Ranieri , his impressive and commanding performances in the heart of Leicester’s midfield have caught the eye of plenty admirers, including Liverpool and Chelsea, according to The Express.
Despite the fact that he is under contract with the Foxes until 2018, it remains to be seen whether or not he stays at the King Power Stadium and helps Ranieri’s side build on their success.
With the likes of N’Golo Kante and Riyad Mahrez being linked with exits, it is unclear as to how many of Leicester’s biggest stars will remain at the club.
Ranieri has insisted this week that the club will do their best to keep hold of all of their current players, but naturally when the bigger clubs come calling, it could turn out to be a completely different story.
Both Liverpool and Chelsea will be looking to make big improvements to their respective squads this summer, as with both clubs falling short of their objectives this season, next year marks an important year for Jurgen Klopp and Antonio Conte respectively.
