Tottenham Player of the Year named: PFA nominee Kane outvoted by star signing, Goal of the Season revealed

Harry Kane leads the race for the Premier League’s Golden Boot with just one round of fixtures left to play, but the 25-goal Spurs striker was beaten by his side’s star summer signing of 2015 when fans voted for their Tottenham Player of the Year.

Belgian defender Toby Alderweireld, who moved to White Hart Lane from Atletico Madrid in July last year, picked up two POTY awards voted for by supporters, while Kane – a nominee for the PFA’s top gong – had to settle for the kiddies’ prize.

Alderweireld has started all 37 of Tottenham’s Premier League games this season, featuring in all but five minutes of their campaign. He has only been dribbled past on 16 occasions, making 45 tackles and 63 interceptions, while committing just nine fouls.

Also impressive in possession, Alderweireld has completed over 2,000 passes and supplemented the Premier League’s second-most prolific attack with four goals and two assists.

Tottenham’s final award went to Dele Alli for his wondergoal at Crystal Palace back in January.
