John Terry next club: Man United among favourites to sign Chelsea legend

For some unknown reason, Chelsea Football Club appear ready to discard one of the finest ever players this summer by allowing legendary skipper John Terry to leave for nowt.

The 35-year-old, who joined the Blues as a boy back in 1995, is set to make his Stamford Bridge exit when his current contract expires, according to the Daily Star.

Meanwhile, the same newspaper last night published some odds which show that Manchester United are seen as a likely destination for JT.

The Star quoted Paddy Power’s John Terry next club prices as follows:

New York Red Bulls – 4/1 favourites
Manchester United – 5/1
LA Galaxy – 5/1
New York City FC – 5/1

America seems like the obvious choice for Terry, who may be reluctant to join a rival Premier League club for loyalty reasons. And anyway, he’s already won all there is to in England – and Europe for that matter.

The reason Man United’s odds are so short is probably Jose Mourinho. The Special One had a very special relationship with Terry during his two stints as Chelsea boss and The Star suggest that Mourinho is expected to replace Louis van Gaal in the Old Trafford dugout this summer.
