Liverpool tap Leeds superstar to fill hole at left-back

After letting Jose Enrique go earlier this week, Liverpool are in need of a fresh, young talent to fill his spot at left-back. The club had hoped that Celtic defender Kieran Tierney would be the guy to cover the spot, but his club pulled him off the market with a new deal. Now the Reds have set their sights on Leeds United star Charlie Taylor as the new replacement for Enrique.

According to the Express, Liverpool are preparing a bid for the Leeds left-back in hopes he can compete with Alberto Moreno for the starting job. Moreno was one of Liverpool’s top defenders this past season but suffered a rough patch in January and February that cost the team valuable points.

The 22-year-old English defender played over 3500 minutes of football for the team this year, and earned Man of the Match honours five times in 39 games for the club. He scored once and had four assists this season as Leeds finished 13th on the table.

Taylor was voted the Leeds United Fans’ Player of the Year
