Ambitious Premier League club hope to land Man United star Jose Mourinho can’t stand

After falling just a few points shy of securing a spot in the Champions League, West Ham United will hoping to make an even bigger impact in the Premier League next season and hope they can capitalize on a some potential chaos to bolster their already impressive ranks.

According to Transfer Tavern via El Confidencial, West Ham United have made an inquiry to Man United about star midfielder Juan Mata in hopes of bringing him to London this summer. Mata is believed to be on new the chopping block under newly-appointed manager Jose Mourinho, as the former Chelsea boss got rid of Mata during his tenure at Stamford Bridge.

Mata had five goals and four assists while playing every Premier League game this past season. In 54 total appearances he had 10 goals and eight assists.

West Ham United broke several records for the club in the Premier League era, including the highest number of points with 62, the highest number of goals in a season with 65, the least number of games lost in a season with eight and the lowest number of away defeats with five.
