Valencia are refusing to budge on their valuation for their star defender Shkodran Mustafi according to The Sun.

Per-the-source, the La Liga giants are demanding that Arsenal pay £50 million for the Germany international. The report goes onto state that Valencia want to use the transfer fee to fund a move for Chelsea’s Pedro.

The Sun also reports that Mustafi is Arsene Wenger’s primary target this summer, as the French tactician seeks defensive reinforcements following injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista.

Wenger also has his eye on Turkish international defender Omer Toprak according to the Daily Star. The Turkish international defender is available for less than Mustafi and has years of Bundesliga and Champions League experience behind him.

Wenger did have Koscielny back over the weekend for Arsenal’s clash against Premier League champions but is still without Per Mertesacker and Gabriel due to injuries.

Arsenal take on Watford in the Premier League this weekend as they look for their first win of the season.
