As a fan it’s easy to get caught up in the thought that a player isn’t good enough and needs to be moved on, but you forget that there is the human aspect to a transfer too.
That player often has to move their family to a new country and they will spend years of their life trying to do the best for a club, so it’s understandable that they will get emotional when they move on.
Shkodran Mustafi wasn’t a key player for Arsenal this season and his move to Schalke looks like a good one for him, but it’s nice to see how much love he has for Arsenal as he publicly issued a farewell statement this afternoon:
