It was a good evening for Arsenal on Saturday, as the Gunners secured a highly-impressive 3-0 win over rivals Chelsea at the Emirates.
Diego Costa had scored twice in three clashes with the Gunners previously, with Chelsea winning on all three occasions. However, that all changed this weekend with Arsene Wenger’s men picking up the victory as well as keeping a clean sheet.
After their intense and fiery battles in previous games, Laurent Koscielny and Costa were expected to be involved in another heated clash this time round.
Although there were flashpoints, namely one incident where Costa felt he was being fouled, didn’t get a free-kick and subsequently chased Koscielny and the referee down the pitch, it was a relatively uncontroversial meeting.
Given the result and his own performance, Koscielny was evidently delighted with the outing, and also thoroughly enjoyed some of the memes that were created at the weekend.
From Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi holding a child with Costa’s face photoshopped on, to the French international holding holding a baby-sized Costa in another, you get the general idea as the commanding centre-half finally produced a solid display to keep the Spaniard quiet.
