It’s panic stations at Chelsea as Antonio Conte’s side try to recover after their second comprehensive League defeat in a row.
While plenty of blame has been put on the shoulders of Chelsea’s leaky defence, the club’s management are desperate to bring in quality all over the field.
Spanish-language transfer rumour site Don Balon have dropped a bombshell by revealing that Antonio Conte is keen to bring in winger Angel Di Maria from PSG to reinforce his attacking options.
PSG have been having troubles of their own in Ligue 1, with new boss Unai Emery already under pressure after losing 2-0 to Toulouse at the weekend, and Di Maria wants out of the French club, according to Don Balon.
After his disappointing year at Manchester it would be a brave move for the Argentine to move back to the Premier League, where he never seemed comfortable. Equally it would be harsh on Willian, Chelsea’s best performer over the last 18 months, to see his place threatened by a new arrival.
Di Maria only scored three goals in 27 Premier League games for Man United.
