Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has not exactly had the best start to the season but his former teammate Paul Scholes feels the England international still has a lot to offer the team going forwards.

Speaking on BT Sport Scholes revealed that while he does not believe Rooney is in particularly good form he does think he will return against the big teams.

What sparked controversy was who Scholes named as his ‘big teams’.

Liverpool, cross-city rivals Manchester City and Chelsea are big teams according to Scholes but there was no mention of Arsenal or last seasons Premier League winners Leicester City.
