FC Copenhagen vs Leicester City: Confirmed starting lineups

Premier League champions Leicester City visit FC Copenhagen this evening in their bid to progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Claudio Ranieri’s side sit top of group G, with a five point cushion separating themselves, FC Porto and their hosts tonight FC Copenhagen.

The Leicester players shouldn’t be short of motivation. Nobody expected them to even be playing in this competition and they now find themselves with a great chance of progressing to the next round.

As you may expect, Ranieri has fielded a full-strength side this evening. Summer signing Ahmed Musa partners Jamie Vardy upfront for the Foxes, with PFA player-of-the-year Riyad Mahrez starting on the right-hand side.

The back four that played a pivotal role in Leicester’s success last season has been altered. Christian Fuchs, Wes Morgan and Robert Huth all start – but Danny Simpson takes his place on the bench.

FC Copenhagen starting XI: Olsen, Ankersen, Jorgensen, Johansson, Augustinsson, Verbic, Kvist, Delaney, Falk Jensen, Santander, Cornelius.

Leicester City starting XI: Schmeichel, Hernandez, Huth, Morgan, Fuchs, Mahrez, Amartey, Drinkwater, Schlupp, Vardy, Musa.
