Arsenal transfer news: Gunners and Liverpool joined by Premier League rivals in race for prolific £43m striker

Arsenal and Liverpool have reportedly been joined by Everton in the race to sign Torino and Italy striker Andrea Belotti who has been in superb form so far this season.

The 22-year-old has been prolific to start the campaign, scoring eight goals in 10 Serie A appearances for Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side and in turn earned himself a call-up to the Italy squad and has impressed for Giampiero Ventura too.

Unsurprisingly though, it has led to speculation over his future as his goalscoring exploits have attracted attention from around Europe with TMW via Goal claiming that Everton are now involved in the race to sign him along with Arsenal and Liverpool.

The move makes sense from an Arsenal and Liverpool perspective, given that Daniel Sturridge might be on his way out of Anfield, and the Gunners are still searching for a world-class option to lead the line for them after years of inconsistency from their current options.

As for Everton, it may be interpreted as an admission from the Toffees that they are preparing for the loss of Romelu Lukaku even though the report suggests that Ronald Koeman’s intention is to provide competition for the Belgian international.

It’s claimed that Torino are seeking a fee of around £43m for Belotti, and so it remains to be seen which club is willing to splash out on a player that is showing his class and has many years ahead of him to improve and reach his peak for club and country.
