Diego Costa is taking full advantage of his Boxing Day suspension by jetting off to his hometown in Brazil ahead of the festive period.

Costa scored the winning goal for Chelsea against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon to make it 11 consecutive wins for the Blues and extend his side’s lead at the top of the Premier League.

He did, however, pick up his fifth yellow card of the season and will subsequently miss Chelsea’s Boxing Day clash with Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge. He is making the most of his time off, revealing on his Instagram story that he has flown back to Brazil to pay a visit to his hometown.
