Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko hasn’t covered himself in glory since his summer switch to White Hart Lane and is again in the firing line this week.
The latest round of criticism comes after his disappointing performance against Gent in the Europa League on Thursday night, with Spurs returning to London with a 1-0 deficit to overturn in the second leg.
Despite the fact that Mauricio Pochettino put a strong team out, it wasn’t enough to get a positive result as it added further pressure to the situation given the defeat to Liverpool last weekend.
While several others didn’t impress either, it was Sissoko who bore the brunt of frustration from supporters who made their feelings clear on Twitter following the game.
The French international was signed for £30m last summer, as noted by BBC Sport, and while Pochettino has also publicly criticised him, he has been slammed repeatedly by fans who have been left bitterly disappointed with his contribution, or lack of.
With Spurs facing a tough fixture schedule in the weeks ahead, Pochettino would have hoped to have been able to rely on his depth and continue to compete for various trophies.
However, based on the evidence put forward on Thursday night, he might have to reconsider that strategy with Sissoko missing yet another chance to prove his worth as attention now switches to the FA Cup clash with Fulham this weekend.
Sissoko bitterly disappointing as many predicted, I thought he'd bring something diff but been useless. Poch, the time for Edwards is now.

I'm all for giving players a chance but sissoko has to go, the guy has nothing to offer, why didn't we go for mane instead! What a waste

Things I'll never say after losing on match day
-It's only a game
-I could watch that all over again
-Sissoko played well#coys

It's almost as if #NUFC fans who watched Sissoko week in, week out for 4yrs were right about him being diabolical. Who'd have thought it!??

Pochettino wanted Mane who is exactly what we need in the summer, what he got given was Sissoko on deadline day! All you need to know there!

Ugggggly performance. Dembele's worst match in a long time but he wasn't close to the worst. Sissoko was 'will he get another chance?' bad.
