Arsenal have tabled an opening bid for prolific Torino striker Andrea Belotti, report Calciomercato.
Though only 23-years-old, Belotti has already firmly established himself as one of the best strikers in Serie A. The Italian has found the back of the net 24 times in 27 appearances in all competitions so far this campaign, with 22 of them coming in Italy’s top tier.
Only Edinson Cavani, Lionel Messi and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have scored more goals in Europe’s top five leagues this term. He is in esteemed company, and his good performances do not appear to have gone unnoticed. Calciomercato cite fellow Italian reports in claiming that Arsenal have offered £43million in exchange for Belotti.
According to Calciomercato, both Chelsea and Barcelona are also interested in signing Belotti in the summer transfer window, but the Gunners appear to be the only side to have made their interest concrete thus far. It remains to be seen whether either Chelsea or Barca will match, or better, Arsenal’s proposal.
