The Scottish Sunday Mail report that Alan Hutton is delighted to have finally joined Tottenham, despite stalling over a move to White Hart Lane for several weeks. The full-back impressed on his Spurs debut against Manchester United yesterday and is looking forward to life under Juande Ramos.
Hutts said: “I had some doubts about leaving Rangers but being involved in a game like this makes me realise I’ve made the right decision.
“I’m sure I’ve made a great choice coming to a massive club like this.
“It’s what every boy in Scotland dreams about. It was a big step for me but I’m glad I’ve taken it. The Tottenham fans were fantastic.
“From the first minute they reacted brilliantly towards me.
“People might think there’s pressure on me because of the big fee but I didn’t feel it. I believe in myself.
“I went out there and did what I’ve always done – that’s why Spurs bought me. Hopefully I can do the same job for them as I did for Rangers.”
With the addition of Woodgate and Hutton in defence, Tottenham look a totally different prospect under Juande Ramos. It will be a strange sight to see Spurs defending stoutly and keeping the likes of Manchester United at bay for the whole match. Let’s just hope Hutton doesn’t start getting homesick!
