Man City front man escapes action after THAT tackle in cup semi.
Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero will not face any disciplinary action from The Football Association (FA) following his horror tackle on Chelsea centre-back David Luiz in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley Stadium 0n Sunday afternoon.
The Argentina international launched into a reckless two-footed, studs-up lunge on the Blues’ Brazil defender midway through the second period, with Roberto Mancini’s side leading 2-1 at the time.
However, The FA confirmed on Monday that the 24-year-old would not be charged with violent conduct, for which the front man could have received a three-game ban for, because the man in the middle, referee Chris Foy, saw part of the incident and even awarded the West Londoners a free kick for the challenge.
All of which means that Aguero is now free to finish the remainder of this campaign, starting with the Premier League champions’ top-flight clash with Wigan Athletic at the Ethiad stadium on Wednesday night.
