Brazilian star set to trade shade of light blue?
Manchester City will kick off their summer rebuild by lining up a swoop for Lazio midfielder, Hernanes, talkSPORT understands.
The Citizens have been disappointing in their defence of the title this year and a summer shake up has been on the cards for a while and Roberto Mancini has identified the goalscoring midfielder as the perfect place to start.
The 27-year-old joined Lazio from Sao Paolo in 2010 and has gone in to score 35 goals in 124 appearances for the Rome side, which is particularly impressive considering he began his career in Italy as a move defensively minded player.
It’s thought that the 10 cap Brazilian international wants Champions League football next term and with Lazio currently eight points adrift of that target then he may well seek a move elsewhere.
He is believed to have a £20 million price tag on his head, but City are rumoured to be willing to start the bidding at £15 million and offer young Swedish striker John Giudetti as a makeweight.
Mancini is said be be unhappy with his midfield and has targeted Hernanes as the man to inject some creativity and a goalscoring threat back into the middle.
