Ten Big Deals that We Feel Are Almost Certain to Happen In the Summer Transfer Window

Leighton Baines to Man United

Sir Alex Ferguson has been linked with a move to sign Everton left-back Leighton Baines for the best part of three years and we think the deal will be clinched this summer.

The 28 year old full-back is now a genuine challenge to Ashley Cole’s England spot and the former Wigan Athletic man knows that a high-profile move to Man United will help in his pursuit of continued international recognition with a World Cup on the horizon.

Patrice Evra has arguably had an average, by his standards, season this term and Ferguson has been unsure of using Dutchman Alexander Buttner, who he signed in the summer, to challenge the Frenchman. He will have no such qualms about Baines.

With David Moyes also potentially on his way to the Toffees exit there is every chance Baines will be exit bound.
