New Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has not ruled out a move to bring star player Isco with him to the club from Malaga, according to Sky Sports.

The Chilean confirmed yesterday that he had a verbal agreement to take over at the Etihad Stadium next season, and has now dropped a hint that his star player at Malaga will be a main transfer target for him at his new club.

The Spanish youngster has emerged as one of the best attacking midfielders in La Liga, and has been pursued by the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid this summer, with Pellegrini saying he expects the 21-year-old to be a success wherever he goes.

“Wherever he [Isco] goes he will be a success,” he said.

“He has tremendous potential and I am happy that I was able to give him his chance in the first division. He will go as far in football as he wants to go.”

Isco is one of many big names being lined up by Pellegrini, who says a move to Manchester City was too good to turn down, despite strong interest in him from PSG.

He added: “PSG is a very important institution – one of the most important in Europe – and they put themselves in contact [with me] but the priority was to work with [Manchester City].”

PSG may now turn to Pellegrini’s predecessor Roberto Mancini as a replacement for manager Carlo Ancelotti, who seems likely to leave the French giants for Real Madrid this summer.
