Manchester City youngster Denis Suarez will not be used as a makeweight for Sevilla’s Jesus Navas, according to talkSPORT.

The Premier League giants have been linked with a move for the Spanish international for the past few weeks and Sevilla had been one of the teams mentioned to be interested in a deal for City’s 19-year-old midfielder.

Last week reports in Spain suggested that City were set to offer the youngster as part exchange for the Sevilla winger, but Suarez’s agent, Felix Gende, has denied those rumours by insisting that the starlet is looking forward to working with new boss Manuel Pellegrini.

“Right now, Denis is focused on the pre-season with City,” said Gende. “He has to play, obviously, but he just wants to succeed with City,” he said.

However, he did also admit that Suarez’s future would hinge on the plans of the new manager.

“His future at City will depend on their new coach, Manuel Pellegrini. He’s excited to play under him, as the system suits him a bit better in comparison to [Roberto] Mancini, who was more conservative,” he added.

“He wants to do well at City, but if the new coach doesn’t like the look of him, maybe then we’ll have to consider a loan move if there’s anything interesting. We already know that several teams in Spain could be interested in loaning him.”
