Andre Vilas-Boas keen to bring in Spanish youngster.
Tottenham are preparing to make a move for Benfica striker Rodrigo according to The Mirror.
Spurs Andre Vilas-Boas has been keeping a close eye on the youngster’s progress after reportedly receiving glowing reports from his contacts back in Portugal.
He reportedly has been convinced that Rodrigo has what it takes to light up the Premier League and is ready to bring him to White Hart Lane.
It is thought that Benfica will be willing to discuss a deal should Spurs make a bid in excess of £10 million.
Rodrigo was born in Brazil but has a Spanish passport after moving to the country at a young age. He started his professional career at giants Real Madrid, as well as enjoying a brief loan spell at Bolton Wanderers.
Tottenham are desperate for attacking reinforcements this summer and are likely to bring in at least two new strikers.
The club are keen to bolster their options after a disappointing season for Manu Adebayor, who managed to hit the back of the net on just five occasions.
Jermain Defoe enjoyed a blistering start to the season but saw his goals dry up from the turn of the year and AVB reportedly believes Rodrigo can fire Spurs into the top four next season.
