Rangy Brazilian set to make Etihad Stadium move.
Man City have agreed a £34m deal to sign Brazilian midfielder Fernadinho according to Sky Sports News and the Shakhtar Donestk is set to undergo a medical ahead of his move to the Etihad Stadium side.
The 28 year old rangy midfielder has spent the last eight seasons at the Donbass Arena and may well have felt he had achieved all he could with the Ukrainian side and will no doubt be very excited about securing a move to the Premier League big spenders.
Shakhtar had originally been attempting to hold out for as much as £42.5m for the Brazilian international, the fee set in his release clause, but have seemingly accepted £34m for the talented battler.
Fernandinho has netted 52 goals in 280 appearances and is strong in the tackle whilst also more than capable of striding into opposition territory in the style of a Patrick Vieira and one would imagine the decision to make the big money move for the Shakhtar Donetsk may well have been sanctioned by Manuel Pellegrini, who is said to be very close to filling the void left by Roberto Mancini’s sacking.
