AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani says he hopes that Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez will reject the chance to join Juventus, according to Sky Sports.

Although Milan are not currently interested in signing the Argentine, Galliani has admitted he would feel slightly betrayed if he moved to their rivals, after almost moving to the San Siro a couple of years ago.

They were said to be the frontrunners for his signature when he had his infamous fall-out with former City boss Roberto Mancini and demanded to be sold by the club.

However, he and Mancini made amends and the 29-year-old regained his first-team spot with some improved performances this season, though he is still thought to be tempted by a move abroad.

Juventus have shown a strong interest, as have big-spending French club Monaco, but they may be prioritising a move for Real Madrid striker and Tevez’s fellow countryman Gonzalo Higuain, leaving Milan hopeful that they won’t be coming up against him in Serie A next season.

“I would mind a bit if he should go to Juventus, given the friendship we have built with him,” Galliani is quoted as saying.

Milan also signed Mario Balotelli and Nigel De Jong from City last season.
