Benfica winger Eduardo Salvio could be on his way to the Premier League this summer after a string of impressive performances for the Portuguese giants this season, according to Sky Sports.

The 22-year-old joined Benfica on loan from Atletico Madrid last summer having previously spent a season on loan at the Estadio De Luz in 2010 and has been a key figure in the club’s run to the Europa League final and second placed finish in the league.

And his 10 goals in 29 appearances have reportedly attracted the glances of a number of clubs from the Premier League with Everton believed to be heading the chase.

His agent, Agustin Jimenez, has confirmed that there is interest and his client’s future is far from being decided at this stage.

“At the moment, his future is undecided,” Jimenez told Portuguese newspaper O Jogo. “We need to speak with Benfica and to discuss the options.

“There is interest out there this summer from clubs in England and Italy and I believe they have had contact with Benfica.

“After a big season it is normal that significant clubs will be interested. Now the decision is in the hands of Benfica.

“Salvio is content at the club but he is open to the possibility of a move.”
