Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor has said that there is no chance of him leaving the club this summer as he is ‘living the dream’ at the club, Sky Sports reports.

The 27-year-old was one of the few consistent players during the club’s disappointing season last term and has recently caught the eye of the likes of Arsenal, Fulham and French giants Marseille.

Fellow Magpies defender Fabricio Coloccini still faces an uncertain future on Tyneside, as he is still hoping to secure a move back to Argentina, but Taylor has moved to ease Alan Pardew’s defensive headache by claiming that he is happy where he is and wouldn’t want to move for anything.

“Being at Newcastle is the best thing that has ever happened to me,” Taylor said.

“I am still living the dream of every young lad that is in this city.

“I still cannot describe the feeling when you walk over that line in front of 52,000 fans in a stadium like ours.

“It is what I have always wanted to do. I have to keep pinching myself.”

Taylor first broke into the Toon’s first team back in 2003 and has gone on to make 235 appearances for the club, scoring 13 goals. He currently still has three years left to run on his contract.
