KC Stadium side keen on Etihad Stadium giant.
Hull City are ready to stump up £4m to end his search for a new custodian with Steve Bruce setting his sights on Man City back up keeper Costel Pantilimon according to the Daily Mail.
The KC Stadium manager had previously taken an interest in Leicester City’s Kasper Schmeichel and out of contract Irishman Shay Given but a combination of asking price and wage demands scared Bruce off both keepers.
Pantilimon may well be the ideal solution as the Romanian is said to be keen on remaining in the Premier League but knows he is unlikely to unseat number one starter Joe Hart anytime soon.
The massive 6f 8in keeper initially failed to impress following his move to the Etihad Stadium last August but put in some decent displays during the club’s FA Cup run to prove that he does indeed have what it takes to make an impact in the English top tier.
The 26 year old didn’t manage a single minute of Premier League action in 2012/13 but did make seven appearances in cup action, conceding seven in his first two outings but then managing four clean sheets in his other five Man City fixtures.
