Scott Parker is said to be part of Paulo Di Canio’s Sunderland revolution.
Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker is a target for Paulo Di Canio at Sunderland according to the Daily Mirror.
Parker is set to be Di Canio’s first English signing this summer as he looks to reinforce the clubs midfield.
Di Canio is set to be busy this summer adding quality players to the Sunderland squad in an effort to make sure the side don’t finish anywhere near the relegation places next season.
Parker has been an important part of Tottenham’s midfield for awhile now, especially during Harry Redknapp’s time at the club but, at 32 the player is getting more injury prone and Spurs could look to sell Parker if they receive a bid of around £4 million.
Parker had been linked with a move to Redknapp’s new club QPR in the January transfer window but that materialised.
Redknapp is understood to be still interested in Parker but it is unlikely that the player would want to play in the Championship, leaving the door open for Sunderland to sign Parker.
Di Canio has already signed three players this summer on a free transfer, defender Valentin Roberge and midfielders Cabral and Mobido Diakite.
The Italian will surely look to add more players to his squad during the rest of the summer.
