Radu in the dark over Premier League interest.
The agent of Lazio defender Stefan Radu has claimed that there is no truth in the link between his client and a summer move to Manchester City, Sky Sports reports.
The versatile defender can operate at either left back or in the centre and he had originally been linked with the Premier League runners up during Roberto Mancini’s tenure at the club.
However, whilst agent Victor Becali admitted that Radu was “appreciated” by the former regime at City, there has been no contact from the club since Mancini was sacked last month.
“Neither I nor Lazio know anything of Manchester City’s interest in Radu,” said Becali.
“I have a great relationship with Txiki Begiristain. If City were interested in the player they surely would have called me.”
The 26-year-old has been in fine form for the Rome based side this season, making 33 appearances across all competitions and bagging three goals in the process.
A 14-cap Romanian international, he first joined up with Lazio in 2007 and has established himself as a regular starter with the side. He is also a former teammate of City defender Aleksander Kolarov before he left for the Etihad in 2010.
