Everton are prepared to offer £6million for transfer listed Spartak Moscow winger Aiden McGeady, according to the Daily Mail.

Having failed with a £5million bid in January to sign McGeady from the Russian club, Everton are back in for the Ireland winger. Both Newcastle and Sunderland are said to be interested in signing the 27-year old midfielder, who claims he is ready to leave Russia for the Premier League.

McGeady has previously said: “I have ambitions to play in England and have made it clear I won’t be signing a new contract.” His wishes may come true soon enough as Spartak Moscow general director Roman Askhabadze say they’re willing to listen to offers for Aiden McGeady.

Askhabadze said: “Spartak is ready to consider any proposal for the player. If it is interesting for us from a financial point of view, we will begin negotiations with the club.” With the asking price in the region of £6million, both Everton and Sunderland have shown interest in signing McGeady, however, the imminent arrival of Emanuele Giaccherini at the Stadium of Light could swing the deal back in Everton’s favour.

Newcastle were too interested in McGeady, but they appear to be closing in on a deal to sign Scott Sinclair from Manchester City. The former Celtic man is out of contract next year, as some of the Premier League’s top clubs prepare offers for the Irishman.
