Etienne Capoue, Toulouse to Cardiff City
The Frenchman was a former target of Arsenal’s, but Malky Mackay revealed last week that the club and the Ligue 1 outfit had come to an agreement for the transfer of Capoue this summer. Since then talks have been on-going, and the two parties are reportedly closing in on an agreement on personal terms. The Blue Birds are looking to bulk up their midfield with the addition of Capoue so they can compete in the Premier League against some of the stronger midfield units. The defensive midfielder would provide excellent cover at the back, as the key to Premier League survival is a good defensive record. Understood to be a club record fee agreed, exceeding £8million, Cardiff are showing no fear this summer and are spending big to ensure Premier League survival.
