White Hart Lane side target Danish international.
Tottenham are reportedly preparing a £12m bid for Ajax starlet Christian Eriksen according to Danish source BT.
With Andre Villas-Boas set to rake in a massive sum from the likely sale of Gareth Bale it appears that the White Hart Lane boss is keen to continue his summer spending and could see the Danish international as an ideal replacement for the Welsh international.
Though the Danish international is not necessarily a direct like for like alternative to Bale he could certainly go some way to providing an alternative creative outlet for the North London side.
Eriksen is an adept assist maker and pitches in with more than his fair share of goals whilst also being something of a set-piece specialist.
The 21 year old is considered one of the hottest prospects in European football and having helped his Amsterdam Arena side to three successive Eredivisie titles Eriksen may well be ready for a new challenge.
Villas-Boas has already brought in Nacer Chadli, Paulinho, Etienne Capoue and Roberto Soldado this summer but having seen his side scrape past Crystal Palace and Swansea City with the aid of penalties in both matches he may feel that extra creative nous is necessary to give his side the push to secure a coveted top four spot.
Eriksen has made 161 appearances for Ajax, scoring 32 goals and providing regular assists in the process.
