Boss hopes talented midfielder will stay.
Ajax boss Frank De Boer has said that he is sorry to see Christian Eriksen leave should he complete his switch to Tottenham Hotspur, Sky Sports.
Spurs are in talks with the 21-year-old Danish international over a possible move to White Heart Lane before the transfer deadline on September 2nd, and Ajax have reluctantly granted him permission to talk to the English side.
Eriksen has been linked with a number of top European sides ever since he broke into the side in 2010, and his manager Frank De Boer has said that he will be disappointed to lose his star man, but backed him to be a success in the Premier League at the same time.
“His departure will be an enormous loss, Chris was very important for us,” De Boer told De Telegraaf.
“We always have work in a good way. Players who are that good and also the ideal professional are, for a coach, the most ideal players.”
Asked if he thought Eriksen would succeed in England, De Boer said: “It would surprise me if that won’t happen.”
Eriksen has gone on to make 161 appearances for the Dutch champions, scoring 32 goals in the process.
