St James’ Park side monitoring White Hart Lane wide-man.
Newcastle United are reportedly keeping a close eye on Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon as Alan Pardew considers making a January move for the White Hart Lane speedster according to CalcioMercato.
The 26 year old has started just one of Tottenham’s opening four Premier League fixtures and the arrival of a number of summer additions could certainly lead to the England man’s first team opportunities becoming limited, which could be a big blow to the wide-man’s hopes of securing a berth in Roy Hodgson’s World Cup Finals squad.
Lennon is into his ninth season at the North London club and has arguably failed to live up to his very obvious potential and if by the time the January transfer window opens he is playing a secondary role at Tottenham then a move to St James’ Park may tempt the former Leeds United man.
Pardew’s side started the season poorly but back to back wins against Fulham and Aston Villa have got their campaign back on track.
Lennon has made a total of 327 appearances for Tottenham and has scored 29 goals for the club.
