Udinese sporting director Cristiano Giaretta has denied rumours that Manchester City are working on the signing of Polish wonderkid Piortr Zielinski, according to talkSPORT.

The 19-year-old is a highly rated talent after making a first-team breakthrough for the Serie A side last season, and is already said to have attracted serious interest from the big-spending Premier League giants.

Able to play as an attacking midfielder or forward, Zielinski could be a useful addition to Manuel Pellegrini’s side, as he is currently without midfield playmaker David Silva through injury, and the Spaniard has also arguably not been at his influential best for some time now.

This led to speculation that City could move for the Poland international when the transfer window opens in January, though Udinese insist no negotiations have taken place so far.

“Zielinski to the Premier League? Nothing true. There is no negotiation with any team,” Giaretta said.

City were also linked with some similarly attack-minded midfield players in the summer, including exciting young pair Isco and Marco Reus, as well as Lazio star Hernanes, though these moves proved never to materialise.

Although still young and inexperienced, Zielinski looks like another top talent that will surely make a big move at some point in the near future.
