White Hart Lane side keen to bring in Uruguayan.
Tottenham are ready to re-ignite their interest in Inter Milan wide-man Alvaro Pereira after the player’s agent hinted that his client could be ready to leave the San Siro according to talkSPORT.
Andre Villas-Boas welcomed back youngster Danny Rose following a successful loan spell at Sunderland and sent out Benoit Assou-Ekotto on loan to QPR, this may well have left the Portuguese boss looking to strengthen this area and hence his interest in Inter Milan man Pereira.
Pereira is a player Villas-Boas knows well from his time at FC Porto, the attack minded wing-back being a key part of the Portuguese side’s 2010/11 treble winning side.
A move to Tottenham is perhaps all the more likely as new boss Walter Mazzarri hasn’t handed the 28 year old a single minute of playing time this term.
The player’s agent Flavio Perchman has heightened talk of a possible exit by stating;
“His relationship with [Inter Milan manager Walter] Mazzarri is good. Now Alvaro is working very hard in training to convince the coach to play him in Serie A.
“We will see [if he will leave in the next transfer window] – it is too early to talk about this scenario. Obviously Pereira needs to play as the World Cup is at the end of the season. In December or January we will evaluate the situation.”
