Under-pressure Newcastle United head coach Alan Pardew did not offer to resign in the wake of Monday night’s 3-2 loss to Everton in the Premier League at Goodison Park, according to reports in the Chronicle.

Rumours were rife in the aftermath of the north-east giants’ latest top-flight reverse on Merseyside that Pardew had handed in his resignation to Magpies’ owner Mike Ashley immediately after Monday’s fixture.

However, the club have since come out to deny those stories, while also confirming that Pardew would still be in charge for Newcastle’s next Premier League encounter against Cardiff City in South Wales this weekend.
