Swedish striker refuses to rule out move.
PSV Eindhoven striker Ola Toivonen has remained coy on the recent links between himself and Newcastle United by refusing to rule out a move in the January transfer window, Sky Sports reports.
The 27-year-old has been consistently linked with a move away from the Dutch giants ever since the summer and though he has only managed to find the net once this term he has been linked with moves to Newcastle and Italian side Fiorentina.
He was quizzed over whether he thought he would still be at the club in the new year, but he remained vague.
“I haven’t heard anything, it is my agent who takes care of that,” Toivonen told Swedish newspaper Expressen.
“Nothing new has happened.”
Toivonen is expected to be a part of the Swedish national team for their upcoming encounter with Portugal for their World Cup 2014 playoff where he will most likely partner Balon D’or nominee Zlatan Ibrahimovic in attack.
Able to double up as an attacking midfielder as well as a striker, his versatility will come in handy for a Magpies side still short on viable attacking threats and Joe Kinnear will need to act fast if he hopes to bring him to the Northeast.
