Manuel Pellegrini will no doubt be looking for a new goalkeeping option having opted to drop England man Joe Hart after a succession of errors and the Chilean appears to be interested in the 29 year old Slovenian international goalie.

27 year old Man City striker Dzeko may well be keen for a fresh challenge having found that life under new management at the Etihad Stadium still revolves around spending far too much time warming the bench.

Dzeko has made just four Premier League starts this season, his last coming back in September and this is despite the fact that the former Wolfsburg man has been a consistent goal-scorer for the club ever since his £27m move to to Man City.

Having seen Mario Balotelli and Carlos Tevez leave Dzeko may have hoped for a better ‘crack of the whip’ but then watched on as Pellegrini signed Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic.
