Barcelona have begun talks with talented young duo Marc Bartra and Martin Montoya in a bid to fend off interest in the pair from three top Premier League sides, according to Inside Futbol.

The likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are all said to be interested in taking them away from the Camp Nou, with the Blues reportedly keen on centre-back Barta, and United and ‘pool in for Montoya.

However, right-back Montoya is thought to be sweet on extending his deal in Catalonia and has welcomed the news of the club opening fresh negotiations.

And the club’s vice-president of sport Josep Maria Bartomeu told Mundo Deportivo: “With Bartra, we are at a very advanced stage.

“He has a great future here.

“And then we are also talking with Montoya.

“Negotiations had stopped for a little bit but they have been reopened. The team are looking for him to play a big role with the club.”

The pair will see their current deals expire next summer and the news will be most welcomed by the club’s fans as they continue to build for the future as several of their established stars are now approaching 30, if not already over it.
