Queens Park Rangers head coach Harry Redknapp has warned Newcastle United that on-loan front man Loic Remy could cost them as much as £16m to buy on a permanent basis at the end of the season, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The prolific France international has been in impressive form in front of goal for the north-east giants since arriving at St James’ Park from the west London club on a season-long loan at the beginning of this campaign.
In total, Remy has managed to record 10 strikes and two assists in his 19 Premier League encounters for the high-flying Magpies to date, with the striker’s goals going a long way towards helping to propel Alan Pardew’s side into the upper echelons of the Premier League.
However, with the 27-year-old’s deal with the Geordies set to run out at the end of this season, rival clubs have already begun to start making inquiries about purchasing Remy next summer, with the QPR manager now indicating that the Championship outfit will be seeking a fee somewhere in the region of between £15m and £16m for the Frenchman.
“If someone came and offered £15m or £16m for him I’d sell him if it was my choice, but it’s not. I don’t know what the deal is,” said Redknapp, who spent €10m to buy Remy from Ligue 1 heavyweights Olympique Marseille last January.
“You’d think they’d want to snap him up, wouldn’t you? If they don’t somebody else will. For what we got him, for he’s probably worth double that now – he’s scored goals in Premier League again this year.”
