Upton Park side want Portuguese international Raul Meireles.
West Ham are plotting a move to sign Fenerbahce midfielder Raul Meireles according to the Daily Mail.
The East London side are in talks to bring in the experienced midfielder, who has of course previously represented Chelsea and Liverpool.
The 30 year old has failed to impress in Turkey and could be keen on a Premier League return though a lot could depend on how much his Turkish employers will look to bank from his possible sale.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce has been linked with a host of big-name signings but as yet has failed to land one this month and with his side struggling at the wrong end of the table there is an ever growing need to strengthen his under-performing injury ravaged squad.
Meireles spent a year at both Anfield and then Stamford Bridge and could well be the type of top level addition that helps to pull West Ham clear of the drop zone.
