The exciting midfield ace is a former Manchester United trainee, but difficult circumstances forced him to seek an exit from the club in January of 2012 when he linked up with the Upton Park outfit and he has seen himself become the undisputed highlight in what has been a disappointing campaign for the Hammers.
However, despite being the club’s bright spark, there have been rumours of a rift between himself and manager Sam Allardyce, which has lead to rumours of a move to Fulham.
The Cottagers had been interested in striking up a deal in the region of £5m to take him across the City to west London.
But City, who have been reportedly keeping an eye on the situation, are now ready to make him an offer to bring him back to the Northwest in a deal that would see centre-back Joleon Lescott head in the opposite direction.
Lescott has not featured much this season, but earlier this week underlined his desire to see out the remaining six months of his deal with the club.
