The Montenegrin international has recently returned to full fitness following an injury lay off that delayed his impact on the Premier League following a summer move from Serie A side Fiorentina.

His time on the sidelines have seen him heavily linked with a return to the Italian top flight, but he had his agents have insisted that he is happy with life in England and is looking forward to proving himself with City over the remainder of the season.

“I read many rumours about a possible return to Italy, but after only six months in which I had three months of injuries,” he explained.

“I have not thought to return. I want to stay here and prove myself with Manchester City.

“Do I miss Italy and Florence? Yeah, I lived there for five years, Florence is a beautiful city and I have many friends there. But I’m not saying I want to come back, I’m fine here.”

Jovetic also said that he was disappointed to not play a part in his side’s Champions League clash with Barcelona on Tuesday night.

“I would have loved to play but the coach decided not to and I respect that,” he added.
