Backed by new owner Erick Thohir Nerazzurri boss Walter Mazzarri has earmarked moves for striker Erik Lamela and midfielder Etienne Capoue, both of whom moved to North London last summer.
Argentine Lamela has been woeful, coming nowhere near justifying the club record £30m fee Tottenham paid AS Roma for his services and one imagines that chairman Daniel Levy would consider good offers for the youngster, who has scored just one goal in 17 appearances this season.
Enforcer Capoue has looked similarly poor since moving to the Premier League side from Toulouse and is one of a host of midfielders in Sherwood’s expansive squad.
Inter Milan’s chances of signing either player will depend greatly on just how much of a loss Levy is willing to make on the duo.
The pair cost Tottenham just under £40m and it would take a fee over half that outlay to stand any chance of success.
